Description:

During a 3-year project to upgrade the old tailings pump house substation in IOC. Locke’s Electrical were awarded the civil works, electrical works, and demolition scopes, which included the following:

Civil Works:
• excavation backfill and compaction of the entire site
• Installation of formwork, rebar and concrete for the 8 x E-house foundations and piers
• Installation of formwork, rebar and concrete for basin
• Installation of precast firewall panels and steel columns
• Installation of concrete duct work
• Installation of formwork, rebar and concrete 2 x transformer and NGR pads
• Placement of new E-House
• Installation of steel frame for the e-house
• Installation of cable gantries
• Installation of E-house Stairs
• Installation of grounding grid
• Installation of Fencing
• Installation of concrete sleepers
• Placement of Yard Stone

OHL:
• Reroute existing 46kV OHL – install new poles and anchors
• Installation of two new wooden pole gantry structures for Line 6 and Line 7
• Installation of 2 x gang operated switches
• Reroute existing 4.16kV OHL – install new poles and anchors

Electrical:
• Supply and installation of all cable tray
• Supply and installation of all power and control cables
• High voltage terminations 69kV, 15kV and 5kV
• Energization of new GIS building
• Energization of two new 46kV transformers
• Demolition of old substation
