Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Work at Emeril and Atikonak Mircowave Repeater Sites

The Work at these two remotes sites comprised a portion of a larger project to replace the existing analog microwave radio equipment in western Labrador with digital microwave radio equipment. The scope of the larger Project included the replacement of the telecommunications and generator shelters, as well as other components that support the microwave radio network at the Emeril and Atikonak repeater sites. Locke’s contract work was the supply, installation and commissioning of the civil, electrical and mechanical aspects associated with the Site modifications including site enhancements, including access road improvements, brush clearing, fenced yard modifications, new fencing, new foundations, grounding upgrades, helipad upgrades, etc.; telecom and generator shelter installation; waveguide bridge installation; exterior diesel fuel tank installation and testing (Emeril only);solar panel system installation and testing (Emeril only); iInter-building wiring; and intra-site piping.

More specifically at Emeril:

• Install Owner-supplied Photovoltaic Panels and Associated Elements;
• Supply of Foundations, Walkways, Waveguide Bridge, Ice Shields and Associated Elements;
• Installation of Foundations and Site Preparation Work;
• Installation and Integration of a Telecommunications Building and Two (2) Modular Diesel Generator Units; and
• Installation of Fuel Oil Equipment.

More specifically at Atikonak:

• Supply of Foundations, Walkways, Waveguide Bridge, Ice Shields and Associated Elements;
• Installation of Foundations and Site Preparation Work; and
• Installation and Integration of a Telecommunications Building and a Modular Diesel
